Default I did not get an A in history

But I do know that germany only build one Bismarck

the story

On my way home from my 13 mission, as told in an another thread I ran into Bismarck 7 times. YES you are reading correct

e.g

19411210 time 1241 heading south east

Watchcrew tells me that there's a hip nearby I take a look it's hipper. One minut later same message it's Bismarck

I keep on sailing

about 3-4 hour later the same happened again I met Bismarck. This occured 7 times on my way home. then I saved an exit the game. The next time I restartet the mission, it crashed, so i had to restart my mission and this time I only met bismarck once 411215 time 0125

Funny aint it

Actually Bismarck is not in the game on that date so I am guessing the Bismarck class you saw was the Tirpitz.

Bismarck has a exit date in the roster of May 27, 1941. They don't get many dates correct in SH3 but this one they did.

Mapuc,

Your WO is just identifying the class of ship, not the actual name. So after May 27th 1941, it's safe to assume any Bismarck class vessel you see is the Tirpitz.

In the past I've used the Harbor Traffic mod as well and I kept running into a Bismarck and a Hipper in the area of Brest. Didn't seem very 'historical' to me though...

What time period? That particular Bismarck might be a stand-in for Scharnhorst or Gneisenau.

I tought that Scharnhorst class has their own Scharnhorst type boats in game....right?
I mean(im using GW) if i see Bismarck class then it is either Bismarck or tirpitz...NO WAY it can be scharnhorst....there is toomuch diference in this two class...

There have been more recent Bismarks as well.

I visited Willemshaven Naval Base in the 1970's* and the floating bridges which connect to the floating piers where the warship's moor, had names like Tirpitz, Bismark etc.

I'm not sure what the thinking behind this idea was, maybe someone else can enlighted us.

* We almost sank a German naval vessel, but we didn't mean to do it.
