Default Qs NYGM and graphics

Hello!

I decided to leave RuB 1.45 for a moment and give a try for NYGM Tonnage war and Terrain add-in. I got used to graphic mods in RuB and now I miss few of them. So, what to do? Before this I haven't used any single graphic mod so I'm not sure how to deal with them (if I can find right ones from download page or elsewere). Actually, after short test drive I'm now happy only with new periscope and uzo looks. What I miss are at least boats skin (liked those rusty marks on the boat) and deapth cauges (gauges? how this word is written?). Are engine cauges in the NYGM from the stock game? I liked RuB ones and I would like to find them again.

MAIN QUESTION is how to deal with single graph. mods and NYGM? Can those G mods cause some problems? What's your solution?

Sorry to ask basics but...

By the way... Maybe I could just copy graphic files from RuB and replace with them those came with NYGM...? :hmm:

I think you can just copy paste them if you want those graphics.

Should be a simple solution. Might want to try out GW.

I was sceptical at first I admit, with everyone singing praise, call it my theory of creative anomolys, if it sounds to good to be true then it is. But I was wrong and it is an excellent mod.

Thanks Dutch.

I have been thinking GW also. It's just I have only 512 RAM just now - but maybe I could uppower that.

What's new in GW? People seems to be very happy with.

Mostly it's just the polish of the whole package.

I had a very modded setup before, with 30-40 mods. Lots of them are in GW.

It just looks and plays better. There are a few issues that are getting sorted out. This is the first public release of it, so it will only get better. I'd say give it a try now, and remember to give targets time to sink.

If you don't feel like playing the first release, definitely give it a try when 1.1 comes out!

With very few exceptions all graphics files included in RUB 1.45 are also in NYGM TW. However, if you wish to modify graphics files for NYGM TW, this does not present a problem as it will not alter the core gameplay changes.

Uboat skins were never included in RUB, however you may modify them as long as it is only the *.dat files. The gages are a part of the bordinstrumente mod included in NYGM TW. There is an optional set of gage faces included in the documentation folder. If you still do not like the look, you are free to install any gage mod you prefer.

I only have 768 and the GW mod runs fine.

But you MUST use the stock sea floor text that comes in the option folder in pack two. It is imparitive that you use or you FPS will drop substantially, mine did. Discovered the sea floor is rendered at all times, put the stock one in, FPS just fine

Definatly something for you to give a go. New models new graphics new sounds its a complete re-overhual and very well done!

Thanks, all of you! I think I made a basic mistake when I installed NYGM... I did just "rollback" RuB and put the NYGM in. So I didn't go for a fresh new install at all. I think it was that what caused some problems.

Well, now I have got GW but not installed it yet. I try to find out if it's possible to have both, GW and Tonnage War Mod to work together. At least there seems to be something for that at Terrapins site.
