Being a nautical themed forum and all, I figure a few people here probably sail. If you do, where do you sail and what do you sail on?

When I go sailing, I rent a 14 foot 4 person boat called a Holder. I sail at Misson Bay San Diego. I've never sailed in San Diego Harbor, though it looks fun. I'll get around to it some day, but the rental prices at Mission Bay are hard to beat ($15 for 2.5 hours). Unfortunately, it doesn't get very windy at Mission Bay often.

Used to sail and water ski. Haven't in more than thirty years. Wouldn't mind doing it again.

I sail on Dutch inland waters on an open 6.5 meters boat. I'm just about to prepare it for the season.

I have sailed for almost 16-7 years (I'm 22), even if it becomes more and more difficult to find enough time to do it, because of my studies.

I've a 420, a 470 and a 7.70 meter long Beneteau
I usually sail in Normandy and in the Channel Islands.
Sometimes in Southern England
Sometimes in Britain...

I was a jib man on a Cal 35 sloop for a few years in the 80's. Wednesday night races out of the Vallejo Yacht club with a crew of naval architects and their shop superintendant from Mare Island Naval Shipyard. St Francis to Vallejo races and back, 1st bouy races out through the Golden Gate and back and a couple od Farallon Island races(rough water). Had a lot of interesting conversations about weapons payloads needed for cracking titanium double hulls on Soviet subs. Later, after my divorce,(ex-wife worked at the shipyard) moved across to the Dock of the Bay,Sandy Beach. There, whenever I saw an LA class boat go in or out, I'd hoist the Soviet flag, take the camera with the telephoto lens out and snap, snap, wink, wink.
