Just picked up SHIII but having trouble getting GW

I have read so much about this mod and have been really looking forward to giving it a try. I have tried downloading it through this site and the filefront site and both times the second file and the fourth file give me errors when I try to decompress them with 7zip. I tried downloading both files yet again thinking that there must be something wrong with the download but I keep getting the same errors on the same files. Can anyone tell me where else I might be able to download them or some reason that I am getting the errors? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Here is a copy of these errors using WinRaR or 7Zip. I have downloaded the Part 2 file several times and the files on the HD are the same size as shown on filefront. I checked that post and
saw where it applies to this problem but I fail to see the solution. Please any more help?

Humm let me see if I can try to explain myself again. I downloaded GW from http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ first and had corrupted part 2 and part 4. So I downloaded both parts again thinking okay something went wrong with the download. Tried again and still corrupted archives tried WinRaR and 7zip both times and still the same. So then I go digging around to find onther link to the GW mod and ended up at file front downloaded all 6 parts and again corrupted part 2 and part 4 now what is really weird is that the corrupted files match! None the less I try downloading it a fourth time from filefront and I still have the same corrupt files.

It is possible that this may boil down to what kind of internet connection you may have, and/or firewall(s) you use.

As an aside, this is the one major disadvantage of the 7z format. if one file in the archive gets corrupted, then every file after that point becomes unreadable. Of course, having said that, the advantages far outway this one disadvantage.

I don't use download accelerators (anymore) and never (touch wood) end up with corrupted files. I also use IZarc (free) as my one-size-fits-all compressor/decompressor.

I guess that may be quite possible. I have DSL connection and right now just using the stock winXP firewall. I want to try this mod so bad.
I tried some more troubleshooting with it last night. I updated my WinRAR to the latest version thinking that something may have changed with it that would cause it but still no luck. Can someone tell me what the actual file size should be for part 2 and 4? I show that both the files from filefront and uboatsims are exactly:

136,523 KB for file 2

122,767KB for part 4


If someone is willing to burn this to a cd for me unzipped I will mail you the postage to get it too me. Im located in Indiana so if it could be someone in the united states it would be much better.

I downloaded it direct from 7 zips web site it is version 4.32.

I'm with JScones-I have never used a download accelerator and I have never had a corrupted file...including my recent download of GW.

I am going to try the dial up download LoL all 173 files but at least they are RAR files so maybe I wont have the same problem.

OUCH!!!

I suggest this then... when you get all those files decompressed and put together as one unit... Compress them all with either 7z or winrar and save them to disk so that you have a backup in-case you need it.

It worked! Took a while to download them all but it worked! I definately will make a back up copy. LoL! Haven't gotten to do much hunting yet but I was really impressed with the increase of life around the port! No empty docks with just me sailing solo out to sea!
