Default And Now, For Something Completely Different...

One of the best mods for SHII was Manuel Ortega's Chart Table. This made the SHII chart table a little smaller, and added a coffee cup, pencil and a view of the deck below, including your own feet.

I always wished someone would do something like this for SHIII. Well, after a little experimenting and fiddling, I found out that the Leer file could do exactly that! I copied the main Chart Table file into Paintshop Pro 7, cropped it down to just the part with the feet, renamed it Leer.tga and put it into my SHIII. Much to my surprise, it worked!!!

If you want something different in your chart room, give it a try. It goes in Data/Menu/Gui/Layout. Be sure to rename the original, or move it to your desktop or make a backup folder to put it in, in case you don't like it.

Also included is another favorite I use from DBSM: 'Menu_Master LOOP' It replaces the menu music with the scene from 'Das Boot' where the Captain, Chief and Reporter are walking through the sub pens, and it goes the Data/Sound/Music folder. Again, make sure you back up your original in case this is not to your liking.

Sailor Steve, thank you for this. I vaguely remember the SH2 Chart table with the tip of the shoes showing. Do you happen to have a .jpg of the Leer.tga? I'm looking forward to using the DBSM sound file too. I already use DBSM for the Periscope intro movie, so this will be a nice complement. Cheers

I don't. I had to bring it to the library to put it up, and I didn't think to do a conversion to .jpg. Of course, if you back it up and don't like it you can switch it right back. I've been real happy with my feet, though.

Actually this one is also played under the Periscope movie, so you'll have to choose which one you like better.

It's okay, I understand...you're from Texas.

Actually, I was born in Dallas.

Moved to L.A. when I was two.

Lived in Salt Lake City for thirty-five years.

Any or all of which could explain a lot.

How very strange. The one I uploaded is the only one I did, so it's the same file. I wonder why you're getting that?

have you modded to make the game work high res? cuz I have not. Also a possibility, I did not verified the size values in the menu_ini file from stock sh3. My Menu_ini is heavily modified (but never touched that part).
