Default Type XXIII

I know the likely hood of this is slim and none, but who here would like to add to their shIII fleet, a user playable and AI capable type XXIII. I was kinda bummed when I saw they had ommitted this rather obscure, but nonetheless interesting sub type from the game. I was looking forward to seeing a rendition of the interior of this semi midget, two shot, shallow diving speed tube. It is the only electro boot to actually go out on several war patrols and sink enemy vessles.

On that note, anyone know where interior shots of these types can be found, I can't find anything.

Lo fellow Kaleun!

I understand your request, but what good is that tiny Boot for anyway.

It was build as a costal Sub. Not likely that you'll find youself in the Atlantic with that!

As i understand it the XXIII was only unfortune spin-off of the big one!

:hmm:

And it only had one or two torps, may have been a good single mission game on D-Day.

Default Mediterranean Missions

Wasnt that sub designed for Mediterranean missions. I was dissappointed also not to see it here.

Ive done the sub thing with SH2, and mostly got SH3 to see the graphics, and do some "what if" sailing.

Which is what Im going to do when get to 1944, and take my 21 out into the Atlantic.

It would have been interesting to see what a type 23 could have done around Italy with the allies coming up the boot.

Planning to do next best thing which is crate up my 1a, and rail ship it to Spezia.

It would also be a fantasy request of mine for a talented modder to create a type 23.

I'm with phythos...I would have liked to have seen the Type 23 included in SH3. I got a kick out of playing them in SH2. They would have been ideal for those British port raids late in the war. Short trip there. Short trip back.

I seem to recall in SH2 they were hard to pick up with sonar due to their small size. Which kinda made up for only having two torpedoes.
