Default I wonder if Karma comes with a Uboat number

Recetnly ive started a new career (points to sig), and normally i pick a non descript Uboat number that there wasn't much written on. Or one who was sunk before it could really do anything noteworthy. As oposed to adopting a famous uboat number and pretend to be the famous captain of said boat. I prefer to write my "own story" rather then recreate someone elses.

With the case of my latest career ive decide to throw that personal standard out the window. The case in point is U-333 . I read up on this boat, and while its not particuraly famous, some of the story behind it struck me on a personal level that made me really like this boat. So i adopted the number, and tower insignia as well.

To make a long story short heres what happened a few heavily foggy days on the giblralter approaches. July, 1941.

The previous day i was chasing a sound contact, a destroyer came out of nowhere guns blazing. Scored a near hit, H.I went to 95%, i crash dived, no further incident. But this was just the start.

Next day Its early AM, heavy fog, im trying to do and end around attack to re engage a convoy. (previous attack scored 3 hits and no sinkings). Was diving off and on to check hydrophones. Destroyer comes out of the fog, RIGHT ON MY ASS, guns blazing. He must not have been 1000 meters from me before he appeared. I crash dive, and pull hard to starboard on the rudder. This destroyer then RAMS ME because i couldnt get under fast enough. his ramming acutally helped me get under a bit quicker . Quick damage control check and flooding repairs shows the boat is at 27% H.I. How now the depth charges are coming. I center the rudder to get a perpendicular course to his run, as im sure the DC's are already coming.

Then a stroke of luck, at about 500 meters after he passes me, he blows off his own ass because his depth charges are set too shallow. KABOOM.
What luck! Providence has saved me...for the time being.

Sound reports another destroyer escort coming from the convoy.
"were being pinged sir!"

So here i am, with a smashed boat, at 30 meters. I dive to about 90 meters before i start taking pressure damage and go back up to 80 as fast as i can. After a gutwrenching 15 minutes and some manuvering to present a slimmer profile, i evade this escort.

Back to base i go.

While this is a cool encounter, whats so significant about it? Read about it.

Karma? I dunno, would sure seem like it. How often do you unintentionally recreate the conditions of being rammed like this?
