Default OT: THE GODFATHER PC Version

Got it in the mail today and been playing it for about a half hour or so.....Better make it an hour now(man time goes by fast with this one)

Anyways, I highly recommend it to anyone who was or is a fan of the GTA series and the Mafia game. The graphics are a lot better than the GTA series but not quite as detailed on some things as the Mafia game - I suppose this is a good thing since Mafia run a bit slow on most systems when it came out and this one has a LARGE game world/city and runs very smooth on my 2 year old system. (ATI 9800 PRo 128MB, 1GB PC3200 SDRAM, Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer LS). The PC version obviously will have the better graphics than any of the consoles and this one even supports vibration gamepads. I am using the Saitek Rumble Force 3200 and it works great!

Anyways, this one is a hit and I heard it has long game play. There are stores to extort and you can beat the crap out of anyone and take their money. The fighting system is awesome and allows you to grab hold people and smash them up against objects and after they have been beaten enough you can execute them by snapping their necks. There is an upgrade system to fighting, shooting, etc. so fatality moves might change based on what level you are at, right now I am still at 0 but have enough point to move it up to level 2.

Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend this game to those of you wanting to take a break from SHIII for a while and are interested in organized crime games.

Well, got to get back to the game. Just letting you all know!!!

I think you will enjoy it, I know I am. It is a tough game though. I think I am trying to take on a tough family or something, cause the guys in the red suits are whooping my arse everytime I try to take over one of their businesses, but at least I got one of their Tommy Guns This thing rocks!

I'll play it also and it's fun to be a real bad guy you realy have to do a lot of stuff from harrasing ppl up to kill em or take out ther other Families. You can Drive/Walk around free and rob Banks but also shoot and beat up Ppl.
A little Hint the fastest Car you can get in there is the small Sports car. Oh and another highlight is that you can Create your Own look of your Guy

Also note: That if you want to change the look of your character you can do so by exiting your current game (as long as you have saved at one of the safe houses) and go to load and there is an option to edit that save game so you can edit your character's features again without having to start a whole new game.

If you start a war with another family, you either have to avoid that family for a few days or bomb one of their businesses to get them out of the war level and back to a low respect level. War is tough since they send their hoodlums out to snuff you out until the time period has ended. Similar to GTA 5 wanted stars. Wars are bad also since killing in public areas creates a lot of unwanted attention and the cops and FBI G-men will be after you as well. The cool thing though is that the cops will shoot it out with other families as well and not just at the players character.

I noticed that when I have tried to take over a business it's best to not rough up the owner/manager until after talkiing to them first. It's best to ask for the protection money before getting violent. If they still refuse to pay then smash up their place or kill one of the pedestrians inside their establishment and try talking to them again. If they still refuse smack them around a bit but don't over do it or you will kill them and the whole 'take over' is a loss. Some of the owners are really stupid and I have done ALL THAT to them and still they refuse me. That's when it's time to kill them since the whole extortion process is a loss. Might as well back up your words and finish them off.

Thanks, may have to give it a try. I really enjoyed Mafia. Recently fired up Far Cry again.

Haven't tried it but it sounds like it might be fun. I enjoyed GTA San Andreas but wound up getting distracted by something else before I got too far into it (NFSMW I think, then SH3).

The fastest way to end a mob war is by bribing the FBI and you won the war.

Extortion if it looks as if the shop owner is to stupid then you have to find his WAEK POINT either smash him in a window or hit his Cashregister or something els, tryout a few things and sudenly you'll see that he gives in, sometimes holding and draging does help to build up the preasure without hurting him much.
