That is so funny! If you look at that area that is photographed by later more high resolution cams, it looks nothing like a face. Only the old low res pictures look distorted enough to somewhat look like a face.

There is actually a guy who's conspiracy theory claims that NASA nuked the site from orbit in order to 'deface' the face. Apparently to forestall general knowledge of life on other planets.
