Luke 9
[23] And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
[24] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
[25] For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

You seem to put a price on freedom, or piece of mind. You seem to shame the memory of those who have payed the ultimate price already.

John 15
[13] Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Those who have died or been injured have done so maybe because of duty, maybe out of conviction but please do not dishonor them by bringing money into the equation it does not even factor in.I hope money never becomes an issue with Americans in the pursuit of trying to do what is "Right".

Can we really put a price on doing the right things?

Proverbs 3
[27] Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
[28] Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

America still has the power to do good....and so do others...just my 2 cents again.

Hum ... what did we accomplish?....Maybe speculate on what would happen if we do nothing about characters like the Taliban or Bin Laden or Saddam or Irans current nut ball..or any other dipstick in history...we all know what happens....Death happens.

What did the iraq war accomplish let me see.

Oh yeah more oil for america, at cheaper prices.

The lives of over 100 british troops

The falling of saddam

The turning around of a country that doesnt even want america and britian in its land.

Cost of everything has esculated (my councill tax by 400%)

A waste of time effort and money (saddam dont have long to live he is old).

Probly alot more but at 0830 in the morning il leave it at that.

I don't think that's true. I'm definitely paying more than before the war. It's gotten better than the $3+, though. Anyone else?

That was the intention, but not the outcome. Iraq's oil business currently is very seriously tackled due to constant attacks on it's infrastructure. These take playe on a daily basis, but are not worth a news story anymore as long as they did not result in major blasts.

But truth is that the general influence of american oil companies on adminsitrative level and their rights on paper have increased drastically and to a point that is without example aynwhere else in the world. and in no other country the difference between the rights of foreign companies and the the risks and losses for the host is so big than like it is planned and partially implemented in Iraq. Seen that way it is true, the war had been waged for oil. Even if they do not fill it into bottles like thiefs and carry it under their coats and out of the country. It works different.

Saddam was bottled up before the war, and it should had stay that way, but no some moron or moron’s open Pandora’s Box, and now we are stuck with it.

Exactly. Who's making money, genious? .

Kapitan, in your list, you forgot the roughtly estimated 100,000 dead iraqies. But you got more taxes, go figure what's important.

Let us not forget that 'right' and 'wrong' are just words, and relative to people's opinions.

Clearly there was not consensus on the subject of whether or not it was 'right' to invade Iraq.

We all have our own personal sense of 'right' and 'wrong' and most agree that 'murder' is wrong, or child abuse is 'wrong' - but always, 'right' and 'wrong' remain relative issues... relative to time and space.

Thus, it is 'wrong' to gamble in most of the US, but perfectly legal and 'right' to gamble in the UK.

I have no doubt that those that wanted to invade Iraq thought it was 'right' in their hearts, but I do not share that view.

Also, as an athiest, I do not accept the bible as a code we should live by... I only recognise rule of law.

I only submit to the rule of elected officials... God is not elected, therefore if he were to exist, I do not answer to him - nor do I expect my elected leaders to answer to God before they answer to the people that voted them into power.

Anyway, what does this have to do with Submarines!?!?!?
