Summary
Oberleutnant z. S. Paul Döhler and U-11 were lost sometime on 03APR40. Got all confident, went right up to the entrance of Scapa Flow and sat there waiting for a big prize to come along. After a day and a half of waiting i thought 'Sod it, i'm going for it'. Went to go in, had a sweep round with the obs peri and spotted a Flower Corvette. Took that out and slowly went towards scapa. Before i knew it i had luckily spotted a swordfish flying round me and then spun the peri round to see another Flower. I hit silent running, dropped to 50 meters and tried to sneak out. No good. We took heavy damage, i hadn't setup a damage control team before the attack ( ![]() All 27 crew members of U-11 perished. Time to start again...this time though not from Kiel. The old IIA can't do much after you've rounded Denmark! What a fantastic game ![]() |

A couple of points:
1. Big prizes only show up at very specific times in Scappa Flow. They are listed on the following web-site (if you want to look): http://edseek.com/archives/2005/05/0...urvival-guide/ Waiting around near, or in, "The Flow" outside these very specific dates is fruitless. It is also gonna get you sunk, especially if you attack the small warships while waiting. 2. Diving to 50 meters inside Scappa Flow will cause you to strike the ocean floor. The water is very shallow in there...be careful. |
