I am using Rub 1.45's milk cow mod and SH3 Commander with settings to default 28 days in port.
The instructions in RUB tell you to set you days in port to default (28 days) to have you enter next patrol the following day. I set commander to 28 days and I am entering next patrol 23 days later....I deselect 28 days thinkign it will just be default setting and it puts me to April 22nd. How do I enter from supply by 1 day instead of about a month? My options: -------------------------------------------------------- SH3 Commander 28 Says Selected Randomize days in port unselected Entered Resupply on March 22 Leave Resupply for Patrol April 19 SH3 Commander 28 Days Unselected Randomize days in port unselected Entered Resupply on March 22 Leave Resupply for Patrol April 22 -------------------------------------------------------- I'm confused to what difference is in checking 28 days (which is default) or leaving it unchecked (which would be default?) Anyone know how to correct this problem with the combination above? |

Also: If I am at a milkcow/supply ship and it creates a patrol grid of Null can I select my own patrol grid in sh3 commander to update the null value? or do i have to leave it as null in order for the milk cow to work?

Tikigod,
I use the SH3CMdr feature about days in base like this: -SH3 Commander 28 Says Selected -Randomize days in port unselected When I dock at a milk cow unit I then exit and before I restart the game (using SH3Cmdr) I just set: -SH3 Commander 1 day Selected -Randomize days in port unselected So I restart the game (with SH3Cmdr) and load the "in base after mission" or "in base before mission" (i don't notice any problem here, but perhaps you can confirm), and then my patrol date will be only one day ahead when enter in the game. Later, when I dock at home base again I return to 28 days using SH3Cmdr. As for the grid destination = "Null" this is true even in the stock game. Just dock at other base (not your home base) and see. I try to put a new grid with SH3Cmdr to overwrite this "null" but seems that don't work. What are your finds? :hmm: Rubini. |

It's a shame that Ubi did not finish this feature. But our good modders made it happen.
![]() I am currently in the Med near Malta and I received a message saying the the milchkuh U-459 (?) will be resuppluing uboats for a month or so. I am tempted to pass Gibraltar with my IXB and refuel near Canada... ![]() So far I have only resupplied in Spain by ships. Never in the middle of the Atlantic. Am I crazy or what? ![]() |

But what you received from BDU is a generic radio message to all Uboats. So if your patrol is in that specific area and you really need to resupply just go ahead and meet the Utanker. ![]() Rubini. |

OK, this is up to you. My advice is that you use the milk cow only if is really necessary or if your patrol area is really far way. This way you preserve the more realistic way to play the game.

Ok I am very confused on how this milk cow thing works. Ok I did what you said to do. Set sh3 commander to 28 days dock at supply ship , exit and set to 1 day. Then come back on and click before or after mission. ( I clicked before)
I was only one day ahead but I was on a new patrol. I had null grid, and I lost my info for patrol 1. MY question, is there a way to get your old patrol stuff back and continue your mission. I even tried to set my old patrol grid in sh3 commander, but that did not work. I don't understand how I am supposed to finish a patrol and receive renown. Am I supposed to finish the patrol first then go to milk cow and then head home, I just don't know, very confusing ![]() ![]()

Volker.U-107, its just a simulation of docking at a milk cow or supply ship....it actually ends a patrol and starts a new one....its a trick to get a resupply into the game....there is no otherway to do it...unless you they fixed the actual code of the game. you can promote crew and give awards...but they disabled equipment upgrades which can only be done at a home port....to limit what can be done at a supply ship...
so docking at these milk cow/supply ships will reset your information and log it as a new patrol. the null value is just another trick to get you back to the last supply ship you exited from... |

All the problems with milk cow mod were extensively discussed months ago. All the info are on the read me, but here they are again: 1. You don't lose anything when you docked at a milk cow or any other axis base (others than your home base). 2. Your renown, ships sunk and personal medals will stay with you and will be available when you arrive at home base again. 3. When you dock at a milk cow or other axis base (not your home base) you can only applies medals and promotions to your crew (you must do, if not you will lose these crew awards). You also get a automatic full repair, fuel and torpedos and a NULL as the next grid destination. This is hardcoded, until now is not possible to mod. 4. Like i already said this is also true for any axis base in the game, except for your home base. 5. These behaviours don't really affect your game, all just goes fine. 6. And you can meet the milk cow unit in any order: before or after your main patrol. Only notice that if you resupply before, you will receive that NULL, so note your grid destination on a paper. In this case you will lose your renown to find and stay for 24hrs on your grid, but only this. 7. Only use the milk cow feature when you really was assigned to a far way grid. This way you will hold the realistic behaviour what is the intention with the milk cow mod. ![]() Greetings, Rubini. |

Ok to get this straight, I first complete my patrol, and then IF i need fuel or torps, I dock at the milk cow, Ok when i start a new patrol I get the null, but I head back to my home base and dock there. So I can get a new patrol without the null and I can recieve my renown. Will that work?
While we are on the subject do even have to follow patrol orders or can you go where you want? Thank you rubini
