Hi guys!
This here is the 4 Dials Slideout Version for users which are using the Original Console at the Bottom! !!!Very Important are the edits in the menu_1024_768.ini and the dials.cfg!!! ALL IMPORTANT EDITS AND ADDS ARE IN THE README INSIDE THE PACKAGE! PLEASE MAKE NO MISTAKES WHILE EDITING THOSE TWO FILES! BACKUP THEM BEFORE!!! But for first i wanna thank some people. ![]() Thanks goes to: -S-XPress from German Ubisoft forum, which gave me the tipp to look at Ex_Rasinban`s Big Slideout Compass! -Ex_Rasinban for his great Compass, where i learned a lot of the needfull adds and edits in the dials.cfg and the menu_1024_768.ini Files! -FLB Chebawookee for the awesome, new Compass texture, which was a very hard and nice work! -Oak_Groove for his fantastic Textures from Bordinstrumente 1.0 Mod! Sry, if i forgot somebody ![]() Ok, this Mod adds 4 ,,New" dials for slideout to your Game. They will appear from the right Screenside, if u move with ur mouse over them. They just slideout and u have to go with ur mouse over the one u need to use. Added the 4 most important i think (like u can see on the Screenshots). -Compass -260 m Depthdial -25 m Depthdial -Knots ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Problem here in this version is the Space, where to put them. Because they are not toggleable like in the next coming 6 Dials Version for transparente/slideout Console Users. I think i got the best solution for that. they are laying all over the next dial, so u just slide the other in, that u don`t need. Read Carefully the Readme! I have also took MenuID numbers 50000 and up, so there should be no conflicts with other Mods which are using lower numbers.... Some Notes: -U can choose between the compasses if u want. If u don`t like the fixed inner field, then juts delete the ,,Lage.tga" from the Slideoutanzeigen Folder! Then will the whole compass turning without a fixed Field inside. -If u like to change the positions of the Dials, just change this lines Pos=678,610,344,344 in the Menu Groups! Example: [G3F I312] Name=Speed; FLB Sale`s Slideout Anzeigen, Knoten! Type=1026;Menu group ItemID=0x3F530000 ParentID=0x3F000000 Pos=678,610,344,344 -----Change the second number to ur wishes, to set him higher or lower (610 Pixel is the height from the bottom of the Screen!) I really like the dials. I can now read the compass. However I have a problem with the menu 1064 768 file. I have RUB 1.45, HT 1.47,Airpower 1.4c for HT (which came with Rubini's 1.47 7z file) unchangedandAdding1, and the slideoutAnzeigen mod installed in order over a fresh SHIII-1.4b patch. I modified all involved menu 1064 768 files, in order, following the instructions; and I load the game with the SH3Cmdr 2.4.
I also modified the SH3-1.4bPatch data\menu\menu 1064 768 file, and loaded the game via SH3 Cmdr without any mods except the slideout mod. I get the same result with both cnfigerations. There are two problems; 1) when the screen "initializing" comes up, the game freezes to a black screen, I get a "DING", and when I alt tab to desktop, I have an error message "menu ID #********** not found". When I close this, and alt tab, the game loads and runs fine. 2) I had modified my menu 1064 768 file and added the Dials1b file to get the chief engineer"s dials to slide out. Hi guys!
Yeah, i know, that the installation of this Mod is not easy, but if u go step by step, there should be no Problems. You MUST do all carefully and no mistakes in editing those two files! If u get those MenuID not found Errormessages, then it could be, that u have not added right the dials.cfg (data/Menu/Cfg). There should be NO CONFLICTS with other Mods which are using other MenuIDs. Thats why i took so high MenuIDs for those ,,new" Dials. Over 50000 they go. U MUST WRITE YOUR OWN NEXT FOLLOWING [G3 IXXX] Number!!! I cannot load my menu_1024_768.ini or dials.cfg up, because they are modded big, and everyone has a different because everybody uses different Mods which needs Entrys in those files! Believe, I KNOW that it is not easy!!! I got nearby crazy to find the right Values at the beginning of this Mod (got maybe 10 times those Errormessages ![]() The 6 Dials & more Mod will be finished this Week, i hope. Thats a really new experiance for gameplaying now! Just about to finish that now...... ( :rotfl: The edits for those both files are a little bit more in the 6 Dials Version, but easier to built that Mod in, because only one new MenuID is to use for 1 Dial there. HEHE over 60 New entries for 6 Dials Mod ![]() @ Redwine Ok, It should be now Problem for u to built your 400 Meter Depthgauge inside, because u are using the old Dials.cfg with the needed Value set from 260 to 400 Meters, (Just change the same Value in the New Dial, too!) so u should only set the new 400 Meter Depth- Texture to this File -Anzeige260.tga Thats all! Very important that u also change the new Value in the new added Block for depthdial! =============================================== Other thing, i have set the Chrono everywhere i want to have it, it is no Problem to have it there we want. See here: ![]() the big Problem i have, like the ones before who tried that, is that she is not clikcable like in the UZO/Peris...... Only if u start her on the Peris, she will go. also stopping her there.. That is because the MenuIDs are not cloneable, because they are fixed somewhere in the gamecode or what i think, somewhere in any Hexdats..... So she will only work when start/Stop/reset her from UZO or Peri. ![]() Maybe we will find a solution for this. Second, i have started now the next most important for me: Get the most important Dials from F6 Attackmap (Torpedodepth, torpedoespeed and the torpedoepistol... maybe the Button to see if it is on manual or automatic settings) to the upper right bottom of the Attackperiskop.... This screen is just to show u what is possible: ![]() That is a nearby mod what i wanna have. It is all a lot of work/found out/test/ideas etc. but it is a lot possible i think...... Just to have enough time is a luxus ![]() but u all know, the show must go on! Best wishes Sale |

I'm sure I screwedup the menu 1064 768 file, as I have done this many times in the past. I'll redo this. However, does this mod screwup the chief engineer's slideout mod? Anybody else have this problem? I don't see how a mistaken entry in the menu 1064 file would change this.

ok ... so i did the following ... instead of replacing the original files i created new ones and make it so i could use the mod in the modenabler
it give the message that the dials.cfg allready was changed by 400depth mod bla bla ... and i got a bunch of errors while loading and the game runs but no new dials ![]() any thoughts |

@Jmack hi mate i HAD EXACTLY the same problem....
Make sure at the top you have the Dials set to a little more than what it is as the read me says ...Mine was set at 47 i increased it to 52 to be safe.. Also REALLY look at the """""G3F IXXX""""" I thought when i came to the end denoted by ================== it was the end....NOPE i had to rteally look and start to create i new lot of numbers to carry on from the last... Hope this helps |
