Default Air attack

Just picking up SH3 after a long absense due to PC v little kids....

But I'm finding from 1943 the air attacks are a sad affair. In one engagement I was attacked by 14 Sunderlands and shot everyone down with no damage to my boat.

Is there anyone else getting this stupid problem. The planes are like lemmings and just dive shoot at me and then pull up into impossible climbs. Also the Wellingtons flew over me the other night, 10 in all and everyone kept going even though I shot one down....

This just seems to be the one weak spot in the game. In all my reading you'd generally find single planes on patrol not whole squadrons in the same sector... :hmm:

It's a problem in the stock game; too many planes and too hard to shoot down. The "Airpower Mod" reportedly reduced the number of planes and made them harder to kill. It's included in RUB. I don't know if it works, as I've only been attacked once in the last several months of play; but, as that was by a single Hurricane it may work.

Just go to. ubisoft silent hunter lll data. cfg. airstrikes. Look for logic between air sessions=15 Change this to =25. This will cut down on the constant air attacks in 1943.

First time I tried playing in 1943 I got my but kicked by air attacks. 8 people dead and no patrol to speak of since I had to return back to port immediatly.

Don't have the stock game though... maybe you need to mod it with RUB or NYGM or something. Once you do that enemy planes are to be feared.

Got attacked in January 1943 by single Catalina - all hands lost.
