I'm trying different versions of this particular driver. Which is best version to run for sh3? I noticed the latest version crashes/reboots almost all the time when it gets in the 3-d envrionment of game. I never had this problem with older drivers...so I'm using previous drivers.... but, I'm not sure which ones are best...SH3 is only game I have this problem... I'm only crashing from time to time now....when the XP recovery console pops up after reboot it says the crash was caused by C-Media AC97 Audio Device. I know this happened with clean install so its not custom/modded sound files. I'm using the standard install of sh3 with patches to 1.4b and standard installed sounds.

Ac97 is not worth troubleshooting. Buy yourself an audigy card... they are dirt cheap now and will give your CPU a break.
You know that the onboard sound cards take a small percentage of your CPU power? My friend had an Ac97 and I felt so sorry for him after hearing what it sounded like that I gave him an audigy card. I have an X-Fi. It rocks! |
