can't save game in career mode

I was about half way through a mission when I had to log off. Saved game. Went back and my save started back in port!!

Is there a way to fix this? , or to save games before returning to port in career mode?

Saving in patrol should be no problem . I will take a guess......

Did you select "Save" from the game menu, or "Save and Exit"?

if you selected "Save", then saved the game and selected "Exit Patrol" you would have ended the patrol and wound up back in port at the beginning of your next patrol."Exit Patrol" ends your current patrol.

there is no other way to exit other than "exit patrol"....or is there??

What is the proper procedure to save a game before reaching port??

Rather than save, and exit patrol, just go to save and exit. Then when you restart, it takes you right back where you left off.

while in game, hit "Esc" button on keyboard. Select" Save and Exit" from the game menu. Enter saved game name and click "save". That should do it.

Exit Patrol is only for literally ending a patrol.
