Default Will destroyers run out of depth charges?

I thought about waiting out a destroyer that was on me hard, but they seem to have an unlimited supply of fireworks. Anyone know if they will run out eventually?

*edit*

They will run out of DC. It will take 5-20 runs. But that could depend on which mods you have installed (don't know for sure) and the type of ship.

Yet when they do run of charges they will continue to make runs at you as long as they can locate your sub.

OK, good to know. I didn't survive long enough to wait out the dang thing, but its nice to know its an option. There's a scene in "Das Boot" where the capt. is like, "They will soon run out of fireworks!" and I was getting pounded like heck with a lot of near misses, so I started thinking the same thing.

Oh really, they keep on after you after they run out? Then I guess it makes no sense to try and "wait them out" like I've been thinking. You still have to try to get away from them, since you have to surface eventually, and if they're still on me, I'm no match for their deck guns.

You can still wait them out. Eventually they will leave the area, but only if you avoid detection for a period of time(depends on what mods you have installed)

I noticed that too. I think that's in particullary is a stupid move. This is what I do when an armed trawler is in an attack run. As soon as they pass me, I surface and deckgun them (30sec reload). After about 5 shots they are on fire and fleeing, never to use there main gun. After that I finish them off.

AI (cheaty, but fun)

What different mods are out there that limit the depth charges? does RUB 1.45 do it?

I don't know if there are mods that limit DCs. I mentioned it because it could be, but I don't know for sure. I should edit my previously post.

There are certainly mods that make the depth charges weaker, as in they have to be closer to do damage. This is more historical, and I think one of them is included in RUB.
