I see that all the time in tutorials and have yet to see it in game. It seems kind of useless to me. Why do I need a menu to engage a target. If I want to engage him, i'll just go do it. If I want to stay still, then I won't do anything.

As you play you WILL see it eventually. You will especillay likely see when you're in time compression, the dialogue breaks time compression. Generally, however, yes, it is not TOO useful. And there's no way to kill the functionarity.

The first time you see it, click 'Set As Default Action', and then click 'Maintain Current Orders'. You'll never see it again.

I don't think it's part of the stock game, but Patch 1.4b includes it. I think.

I would have been happier if they had included 'Crash Dive' as one of the options. That would be my automatic default for aircraft sightings.

I did what Sailor Steve did just hit, 'set default action' and selected maintain current orders, but if you want to change the settings go to options, I think while on patrol or in the main menu, and select the top option, I think it's reset action or something.

Yes indeed, 'Reset Default Actions'. Then you get to start over.
