Default Too many sailors for the Academy when using SH3 Commander

I am wondering if anybody has encountered the "too many sailors" message when trying to go to the academy while using SH3 commander? I have two mods installed, RUb 1.45 installed with JSGME, and NYGM crew management manually installed. I installed RUb 1.45 first, then both the SH3 Commander and NYGM crew management folders from the NYGM mod and then ran SH3 Commander to set up the career. Do I have to have certain settings in SH3 Commander to be able to run the academy missions?

Yes I had same thing happen. Just launch commander and do the rollback if you want to launch sh3 by itself. Commander adds sailors that standard game doesnt recognize....that is why it gives you feature to prepare for single mission or career (so it recognizes the additions of more sailors) inside its launch options. Commander doesnt support training at academy. So, you will need to press rollback and then you can go back from regular launch of sh3 with RUB etc and then you can do academy missions and you will not get the error. The next time you launch from commander it will put its files back in that you had before you preformed the rollback (putting all the sailors back, etc.)

Yeah, SH3 Commander is primarily focussed on careers, although it does support individual missions. You can overcome your problem by using the "Standard SH3" crew option in SH3Cmdr, which forces SH3Cmdr to use whatever crew config files already exist in SH3 (in other words, ignoring the files included with SH3Cmdr).

Be careful though, that I do not think this will work for RUb users, as RUb uses essentially the same set of career files that SH3Cmdr does (ie the "Realistic" crew). So you may still have this problem, even when not using SH3Cmdr.

If this is the case, then I would use SH3Cmdr's new ability to include your own crew configs and I would create a new crew folder in SH3Cmdr called "Stock SH3" or whatever and copy in the stock SH3 crew_config_xx.cfg files. Check out the help file for more info.
