Default Is it possible to add bunks?

This has probably already been explored, but I can't seem to find if there was a resolution or not.

Has anyone figured out if it is possible or not to add additional bunks for officers? there are only two as everyone knows, is there ANY way at all to allow for 2 more bunks to be added? As there were bunks for each officer, that they didnt have to share? Perhaps converting one of the crew quarters to be the Officers Quarters, and allow for 4 to rest? just a thought, I dont know if we can mod the crew quarters.

Hope I havent annoyed anyone if this has already been gone over!

Cheers,

Jamie

Im not sure. Ive had a similar question in the past reguarding crew spacing per compartment.

A quick "fix" (if you want to call it that), would be to change the fatigue model in the damage control compartment in the fatigue_coef section of the basic.cfg file and bunk your officer there. If its a positive number, just put a negative infront of it and they'll gain instead of lose fatigue. Although if realism is your aim, this isnt the thing to do.

EDIT:
Another thing you could try is change the submerged/surfaced fatiuge values for the engine compartment. You can for instance set the E motor compartment to have a certain fatigue drain on the surface when not in use, and submerged when in use. Likewise for the diesal engines, so theoriticaly i think you can say, make the diesals a rest area when submerged and E moters a rest area when surfaced. Although this is just theory, you can adjust it like that, but if it will work without a hitch is another matter.

What would be nice is to have the textures added for the rest of the interior for all the subs in SHIII. Then we could travel from stem to stern and see what's going on. That would be realism +.

Im thinking that those will be the only options. Would be nice, since it just doesnt seem right sending my seasoned officers to rest in the same deplorable conditions that I subject my enlisted crew to.

Didnt petty officers have their own quarters as well, even though they did have to hot bunk? I remeber seeing that on U-505, though it may not be the same for VII's though...

If I make any noteworthy discoveries, ill post them here!

Cheers and thanks!
