TDC SH2/PA vs. SH3

Why are the TDC controls between SH2/PA so different from SH3 TDC controls?
Is it the fact that we are dealing with american subs in SH2 "Pacific Aces" vs. German subs in SH3 that make the TDC controls so different. Just when I thought I had the TDC controls down I went to play SH2/PA on my slower laptop to practice up on my firing solutions and I was completely lost.

I beleive so. While i cant say exactly, i have read from other more knowledgable posters here that US and German WW2 TDC,s are just fundamentaly different in their operation. How so i can't tell you, i just remember reading that.
