Default HMS Jervis Bay skin + some ?s

I have made these 2 skins.

HMS Jervis Bay style, which can just be any passenger liner actually, converted to support cruiser. I think it looks quite nice and traditional and can be an armed version or unarmed.

This one is best to be used for the unarmed version, such as Sergbuto's transport ship.

-------

I have some problems. Right now I use both for serg's transport from addittional merchants, but I also want these skins to be added on top of the existing ones so that the game randomly picks them as well, in addition to the already available (3 of them). They are in the NPTR_01, 02, 03 shape. If I add them as NPTR_04 and NPTR_05 - would they still be picked up by SH3 or do I need to edit something else in campaign or roster files or whatnot?

That's for the transport.

But I also want it to be done for the auxillary cruiser (black hull version only) and I don't even know which file should be edited or where are the original skins and if they allow multi skinning (it being a warship and all following consequences).

If anyone can help... ? I would like to release these if there is interest of course.

You can add NPTR_xx, where xx can be any number from 01 to 99, and SH3 will still read them. Make as many skins as you want. This same concept also applies to all multi-skinned ships. 99 is the limit of skins.

The British Auxilary Cruiser is the NAXC, and your skins should be able to work on those since they share the same hull design. It is also multi-skinned. No consequences, I've tried it.

If you need anymore help, don't hesitate to ask me.

Just drop NPTR_04.tga and NPTR_05.tga in the NPTR folder. That shouls do.

As to aux. cruiser, you probably mean the one which was a parent model for NPTR. It is called NAXC and is already multi-skinned. Just put your additional skins in the NAXC folder.

Type941,

Are you going to make more styles? Perhaps at the very least, some more generic-style color variants? Or different funnel colors? Basically, is there going to be some more variety?

Well, differnt color of the funnel, that's quite easy...

I wish there was just a cloned unit - small passenger liner - that could have been made more frequent.

But since I've got no clue on editing, I decided on this:

3 more skins for auxillary cruiser:
- black funnel
- yellow/black funnel
- red funnel

3 more skins for Sergbuto's transport:

- red/blue funnel
- yellow funnel
- yellow all funnel

I'll throw in some color changes to the ventilation macaronie things, though overall, this is how it will be. I don't want to make 30 skins. These are not so often seen ships, so 6 skins per ship in general should be ok.

BTW, are they truly randomly generated, or are they just sort of dependent on year?

PS> I just figured there will be one more surprise paint job. hehe.

Skins are surelx nice , but i would suggest that you give them less portholes on the hull maybe 2/3 of the ones u use atm ps you could maybe try this skin also with the model of my HMS Ceramic . Just DL it from my sig normaly they should work on her, too. U just have to rename the *.tga to NLOL.tga.

Thus far, I've made in total 16 skins. I'm not going to do anything to portholes, that wasn't part of my original plan, but also I've already finished the work, and I'm not looking forward to editing all portholes and the alpha textures!

I can't really skin your ship until it has the decks fixed. I mean I already made a skin for it, but it uses the parts of red under water on deck and it looks ugly. I have the skin ready, when you fix the UV mapping, just let me know and I'll forward your the skin. See for yourself..

PM me your email address, and I'll email you the current skin I made. You are welcome to use it when you fix the problem with the mapping. even as is, you can use it I suppose, just don't look at the decks...

The decks don't look THAT bad, do they? Maybe these are extravagant liners, with painted decks?

Or just close one eye and squint the other... Everything will look about the same.. No problem, right?

They look fine to me.And as Marhkimov said the decks are not that bad.

And considering you will only be seeing them for the most part from the side while looking through your periscope whats it really matter what the deck looks like.
