Default Artillery (Shore based)

I am not sure if I have seen any of this since I tend to stay away from coastlines, but does anyone know for sure if there is any shoreline artillery units modelled in game? And if there is any, do they report your position if they spot you?

Yes they are there, and shoot at you.

Am I sure they will tell the authorities about my position ;-)

Try to approach Scapa Flow from the West, and you'll see these units along the shoreline, towards the harbor.

yeah theres a few land based guns, the aim is always poor which is just as well as they tend to put big holes into your ship very easily.

Every port (haven't visited American or Canadian ports yet though)I have entered has shore based artillery, either in it, or very close to the entrance.

I should also mention for those brave or foolish enough to attempt this, that such shore battaries are completely and utterly indestructable. Had a mission where some large enemy fleet tried to come into Brest or something, and the shore battaries opened up on a BB and like 5 destroyers. They fought back, and hit the battary multiple times, but never took it out. The battary destroyed all of them.

Something to be fixed in SH4, I say.
