Default sonar overlay

i hope this picture can be seen , i think you will be very interested in what it shows. this is a picture of the sonar overlay i made that can be build on the map. i tried it out for the first time a few days ago, and it works just great. not only does it work ,but it produced an additional tool used to calulate AOB and target course.

the hydrophones picked up screw sounds at bearing 310, range 34km, turncount 43 rpm, (mark 1).
at that great distance i had to wait quite awhile, as large bearing changes take some time to develope.

by the third mark , the targets course, angle on bow, and speed was known to the u-boat, over 17 km away.

i took a fourth bearing, and then a fifth, range 10.2 km. extended the targets course line with the protractor tool, then with the protractor tool drew my CPA to the targets course and headed off to intercept it, about 7.2 clicks from the u-boats position at the center of the sonar overlay.

this is the mission i created for phase III of the sound trainer.

What is the source of the concentric circles from your boat's icon and do those range circles move with your boat's movement?

How do you get the range circles? Is this a mod you will release?

its not a mod because i dont know how to mod anything,
but it can be built, it does not move when the u-boat moves.
when you move the uboat to a new position, you would have to redraw it for your new position. if anyone could mod this they have my blessing. im sending a couple more pictures, that shows what you use to make it, but i have to write a small tutorial that explains how to build it and use it. im trying to get this sound trainer package out to you by christmas, so i really dont have the time to explain much here on the forum. every map tool we have is used in this, thats why i think it cant be modded, maybe the concentric circles can be, and the bullseye, but the protractor used in it is the sticking point, its used to find the bearing of the target.

Thanks. Seems like this is rather tough to do in real time and with own ship and convoy movement, though? It would be a super Nav (and TDC too...if possible) mapping tool mod.

Yes. Wazoo was the creator of the Nav map mods I currently use. If he is still out there...a project like this might be right up his alley.
