Default New sub available should I take it or leave it?

It's 1942. My fully upgraded type IXB U-108, that I have had since 1940 and raised from infancy has just returned from a 3 patrol tour in the med. Upon returning to the second I was informed that a type IXC is available for my command. Should I take it or leave it?

No, save the cash (ummm I mean renown :P )... a fully upgraded IXB is way better then the IXC (I think)

Only thing you get with an IXC is a *slighly* longer range, and i think 1 addtional externally stored torpedo.

Thats it.

The IXB get all the options an IXC does, and if i remember correctly, is faster on the dive by a couple seconds.

Yah, keep the old one. As Ducimus said, you get longer range, a torpedo or two but also make a bigger and slower target of yourself. the extended range also kinda backfires in a way since you may be getting grids even further away. I'm in October 1943 with IXB and quite happy with it

Save up for the IXD2, its the only type IX really worth the upgrade from IXB.

A new type IX with even longer range? I think you'd be crazy to take it! You got long patrol grids before, now they'll be even further away :rotfl:
