I read the Wiki and did some searches and just wanted some extra clarification.
I had read (C. Blair) that torpedos ran up to 1.5m deeper than their settings so I've been compensating, thinking that it was also true for SHIII. Lately my torpedos have been either too high or too low as I adjust for the differences in targets. I know heavy weather plays a role, but yesterday's convoy battle was in winds nil, glass seas and the U-124 was having a tough time. A long-winded way of asking: depth, do we need to compensate for historical accuracy?

I know all my torpedoes in late 1942 have a vertical millimeter-precision.

This has never been mentioned before. No one has ever reported a need to compensate.
The logical guess, from experience, is that this is NOT built into the game. You can easily test this by creating a mission with a staionary target with a know keel depth and fire a torp set just for below that depth and watch it on the external view window. Set the pistol on impact so it won't go off as it slides right under the bottom edge of the ship's hull. |

I always set 0.5 meters below the ships draft in calm seas. Pretty much always works. I havent notced an deviation. I gues sits not build in.

I go about a meter below here...the second shot on the other hand if needed is a guessing game since the targeted merchants draft has changed....I hate C2`s...

![]() Otherwise, i gave up on 1 torpedo take downs on C2's, personnaly i always use a 2 shot spread... magentic under the keel prefebly. Using anything less is just a torpedo wasted. It seems like if you cant get 2 under him he'll need a 3rd fish for the coup de grace. |
