Default Deck gun useage

I’m new to SH3. Just got it this week loaded it and added Real U-boat Mod 1.45 . While going through the Naval Academy Deck Gun training. It takes an extremely long time to reload the gun almost 5 + minutes simulator time. Also it takes a lot of hit to see any slowing or the targets. Is there a Mod to have faster reloads? I picked the men with the most experience, moral, and endurance for the gun crew.

Any help or ideas would be nice. Is there a listing of the best spots to hit on the different types of ship? I kept aiming for the water line, at the bow, stern, and amid ships

SH3 Commander is totally compatible with RUb 1.45 and you can adjust the deck gun reload times .....

I think you should keep aiming for the waterline, as you have been doing. Aiming at the deck causes dramatic fires and cargo damage but does little to sink the ship.

This question is so common so there is a sticky about it. Read about it here: http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=37230

In RUb, they have compensate the unrealistic accuracy with slowing down reloadtime and also nerfed impact power of shells.
There has been a lot of opinions in this forum about this and you can read all about it yourself in that sticky.
There are also an option in SH commander (who is fully compatible with RUb, strongly recommend that program) to change your deck gun reload time. There are also many other nice things in SH 3 Commander. You can get latest SH 3 Commander here:http://www.beerymod.com/sh3_011.htm

Good luck
