I am new to the game, and I would like to know how to the Nibelung sonar works?

Don't give up slid. Sometimes it takes a little time to get answers in the Mod Workshop because the modders make so much noise with all the tools.

I'd like to know the answer myself since I spend so much time looking at other issues in the game.

thanks for the reply. the manual is not very clear about how to use the Nibelung sonar for underwater attack.

It does not work for the XXI in the game. It was supposed to give you, using active sonar and a built in calculator, the speed and direction of a target without ever having to break the surface water.

You can using active sonar, ping an object for distance, wait a given time, then ping again. This will give you two points of a line direction and the speed using simple math. Straight into a TDC and there you go -fire torpedo all under water.

It does not and never will work in game. It was never finished before it was shoved out the door.

Yet another reason to dislike the Type XXI...

It is pretty to look at... but very broken in this game.

sorry, tha I took this long to reply. But,I live in South Florida and I just got the power back on today, thank to hurricane Wilma. so, the sonar is busted. I am playing in 1945 and I got nailed everytime I show my face above the water by planes. Is there any fix to the Nibelung sonar?

Damn...never knew that. Has anybody looked at the radar warning system that's suppose to be mounted on the snorkel of the XXI? Does that work?
