Game crashing at an exact time/date?

Ok I'm having this weird bug where my game crashes to desktop at pretty much the exact same time (give or take a few minutes) no matter what. Is this a known bug and is there any way to fix it?

Also, does patching the game make savegames unusable? I was going to hold off patching for now seeing as i'm having a blast in this campaign..

Could be you're running out of resources at a certain point...
Have you looked at Taskmanager to see what you have running?

Maybe an AV software, lots of other app's, etc?...

You can usually safely patch while you are in port between patrols.
