"we've been spotted"

December, 1942. U-755 has just finished an attack on an enemy convoy off the West African coast. After administering the coup de grace to a straggling Liberty ship, we surface, and commence a high speed end around to try and get into position for another submerged attack.

"Radar signals detected," calls out the Funkmaat. Probably the enemy destroyer screen, I think. Suddenly, out of the overcast, a Catalina pops into view at very short range. Almost as surprisingly, the watch officer yells, "We've been spotted!" just as the flying boat brackets our stern with bombs.

As we're plummetting to the bottom with flooding in 5 compartments, I get to thinking... wasn't the "We've been spotted" removed in prev builds of RUb? Is it back in 1.44? Any ideas on how to get rid of it again?

I'm not 100% sure but I think that you would need to replace this phrase with something else, thus making it a dead giveaway and defeating the purpose. Even if you left it blank the notification at the bottom of the screen would probably appear. If you want to try anyway, go to data\menu\en_menu.txt or ge_menu.txt, depending on what language you use.
