Default renown cost of torps

Im thinking about makeing TI and TII´s cost something. I never use the TII cause they basicly suck, but making the TI´s cost about 50 renown, and the TII´s 25 renown, I could force myself to use the TII´s. It would also mean that you might be more conservative than firing 4 torps on a single C2 (not that I ever do). I looked in the basic.cfg, and found something about toprs. But all the torps are renown=0, even the Falke and SoundKönig. Anyone know how to change the renown cost of the torps?

Instead of "renown=0", add a number...
And then test to see if that works !!

I now finished editing alooot of entries, and now my boat doesnt have any torps loaded initially (its intentional), so now I have to "buy" every single torpedo (TI´s are 50 renown and TII´s are 25). I havent tested how it affects the gameplay, but I´ll get back to you if anyone is interested. I know it isnt very realistic, but I always thought I had too much renown and nothing to spend it on. Also I always used the TI´s and never TII. This "mod" fixed both I hope.

Now if only a German merchant out at sea would sell them,
I would gladly buy without having to visit a friendly port....

Yeah, you know a big floating harbor ship floating around that sells torpedos, engine upgrades, repairs your sub, reloads your deckgun. And maybe we can figure out a new haggling compartment, so when we stick all our crew in there we'll get a better buy for our renown too! This could be gre....

Oh, wait. This is a sim right? Not an RPG? :P

Yeah Yeah... I know its not realistic not to be fitted with the crap o´matic torpedoes till your boat is about to burst, but I still dont think it such a stretch. Afterall you DO pay renown for the acoustic torps. Anyway renown isnt like money. Is more like...well...renown. If you sink alot of merchants, you are cleared for the better, more expensive torps...in my case...the TI´s. Anyway. I played a couple of patrols with my new system, and I definitely think more about saving my torps, and rejoice more when a torp hits home.

The Germans had them too. They were called "milk cows" and could even dive. Eventually - and with a little Allied help - they all dove to the bottom of the sea, however ...
