I've also made a new turm 0 bridge deck which also looks more like
the real thing.
I would like to post some pics to see if there is any intrest in this skin but don't no how could someone be so kind and tell me how to do this.
Thanks Fubar.
Ps there are some exellent mods on this site keep up the good work.

Thanks Type941 for the tip
ok the hull I tried to match dunkelgrau51 gray as used by the Kriegsmarine on alot of there boats, I've added detail around torp tubes put in some drainage holes, rivets and weathering
[img=http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/835/hull10ai.th.jpg]

the turm0 deck
[img=http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/1135/turm0deck7wd.th.jpg]
the turm1 deck
this deck I wanted to put the metal grateing in the main part of the conning tower but was unable to do so because of texture repeat
issue. I'm useing this deck for all other turms (just made copy's and renamed them).

I've also matched the deck gun with the hull, I also wanted to change other parts of the gun but was unable to because this skin
is also used for the AAgun.
I have used uboat.net, books and Revell's exellent 1/72 scale model as a reference.
Now we come to the crunch these skins are all high res so the files
are big which means i could have a problem trying to find a host.
Also this skin is not for the typeVIIB boat as some details will not be in the correct place.
let me know what you think.
THANKS FUBAR

Try RapidShare.

I think it looks fantastic!

Question: can you make a VIIB skin, too?

Looks very nice Fubar
Nice work indeed!
Have you tried to upload them at http://rapidshare.de/
and you also have Terrapin's site http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/

Hope you can upload them soon, cos I'm very eager to try these skin.

You can try my "Improved deck compass mod" at Terrapin's site http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ and maybe it matches your work.

Here you can see a screenshot: http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopi...hlight=#366276

I only have a slight question though. Why is your skin only suitable for VIIC?? I thought the skin for VIIB and VIIC could be used for both versions :hmm:

Since I just bought a Type7C and about to make a patrol in it (and intend to stay with it till the very end of the war) I think this skins is perfect for me - it looks new, and clean, but also realistic. You did great job there I think.

please, dont just use RApidshare.de as it allows 50 downloads per IP and I hate it so much. Upload it to Terrapin's site as listed above too.

I've downloaded stuff from Rapidshare a lot and I've never had any problems.

Anywho, the skin does look great. I look forward to being able to use it!

Great skin Fubar... even has wrinkles in it!...

Question: Since you added extra drain holes to the Hull around the Torpedo Shutter Doors... anyway could you accurately draw in the flood holes at the bottom of the Ballast Tanks?...

I have noticed 2 long retangular 'humps' at the bottom of the Saddle Tanks, and I'm guessing that is where the flood holes are supposd to go.. just asking, since you have a good eye for details...

Cordialement, Duke of Earl

Yep, still waiting. Think you could redo the decks for the Type IX's, too? I've never been a fan of all that rust.
