Default Anyone know a "Return to course" fix?

I dislike when I am jumped to the Nav map when I issue the "return to course" command to the Navigator. Anyone know of a fix? I have looked through most of the .cfg files and scrutinized the commands.cfg, nada.

Any help would be most...ummm helpfull.

Agreed, I can't stand this "feature" either. I never found anything existing on it when I looked a while ago.

In fact, while we're at it, can we remove the speed adjustment when "return to course" is ordered. If I'm stopped returning to course doesn't necessarily mean I want speed adjusted to ahead standard. That will get you killed sometimes.

Yes, both of these "features" are annoying. I have learned to anticipate and be ready to countermand the telegraph order but I would also appreciate a fix. Good luck. If anyone solves these problems I'm sure a lot of folks would be grateful.

Yes, I have noticed that problem too so now when I do a
"return to course" order, I make sure that everything around
me (threats & the like) will not be affected by the few seconds
it takes me to countermand the map & speed order (or not)
Playing it SAFE, a reality pattern that has let me continue to keep going on more patrols in the current campaign....

Still no luck on the "RTC" problem. In regards to the time compression, I believe you can alter the settings in your main.cfg in Docs/SH3/data/cfg. Here is the setup I use:

[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=1024
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=1024
AirEnemyDetected=0
SoundEffects=1024
CharacterAnim=1024
EnemyDetected=0
RadioReport=1
Particles=1024
PrayState=1024
HunterState=1024
3DRender=1024
Maximum=1024

Sometimes the Land Prox gives me trouble but I have learned to be aware of my navigation

Keep up the grand work lads!

I always set my speed first, before I issue the return to course command, then it leaves my speed where I have set it, as long as it is not stop.

I agree with the Return to Course problem switching you to the Nav Map.

As far as the speed change, though, I am in the lucky group whose speed does NOT get adjusted, unless the boat is at All Stop when Return to Course is ordered. I have seen from previous threads at SubSim, that some people are in each group.

I think more analysis is needed as to why some people's speed is adjusted and others' isn't. We may be able to figure out how to fix the speed adjustment.

As for me, I have the US DVD version. I patched from the DVD-ROM immediately to v1.3 (skipping any previous patches) and then to v1.4b. Anyone else?

I agree that the jump to the map is annoying. As for the speed settings, I usually cruise at 1/3, so Standard is also annoying for me, but as to alerting the enemy, I never Return To Course unless there's no enemy in sight.

Ah! Heh. Misunderstood the inference to time. Yeah the speedup is a problem also. Any news on the whereabouts for this setting?
