Default New "Das Boot" diving sequence sound mod

I have seen some posts about Das boot mods and I started to play a little with Windows sound recorder.
Made a diving sequence mod from "das boot".
Starts with captain orders crew below from watchtower and then hearing orders from submarines diving stations.
Could get rid of the movies background music in the beginning though

Here is download link:
http://rapidshare.de/files/5446814/R...sound.rar.html

Notice: Firts tried with 7z and recognized that the file was in fact smaller using win.rar! :hmm: So maybe for soundfiles win.rar is better that 7z?

If you like it then I will upload it on Terrapins site.
So please give me some feed back!

I'll pull it ...indeed some media files (audio, video), aren't compressed well by 7z...

I have something similar in my sound files. Everybody reporting in overlaid on top of the game's ladder and hatch sounds. You can find it at Terrapin's site.

Sailor Steve - Where do the ogg files in your 'Speech' folder go? In the game, the 'Speech' folder has nine subfolders: '1', '2', '3', etc. Are your speech ogg files supposed to go in one of those? If so, which one?

thanks!

It's of course similar, but absolute not the same.
I took the sound from the scene where they stood on the conning tower and from there ordered to "einsteigen"..and so on!

Didn`t it read in the readme to put them to all of the 9 folders? Atleast I did that.

Yep. The original "Das Boot Sound Mod" was set up for SHII. I just turned them into mono .ogg files. This means that you don't get a different voice for each state (i.e. whispers and shouts), just the Das Boot sounds for each one. You can load all the files into all nine folders, or use a program like GoldWave or WINAMP to listen to each one and pick and choose among them.

Just a reminder: the alternate folders have the torpedo hit and depth charge sounds, but without the voices cheering or shouting. I did this just because I got tired of hearing "WASSERBOMB!" every time. By loading those files into odd-numbered folders and changing out the soundman every now and then I sometimes get the shouting and sometimes not.
