And no, I'm not talking about Hitler. I'm talking about my watch officer, Adolf Carlewitz. Poor chap must have been real lonely. When we returned to Wilhelmshaven after our maiden patrol in U-556, he couldn't take his eyes off the nurses. He was just glued to them. :rotfl:

Glad to hear that good old Adolf is alright. Oberleutant z. S. Adolf Carlewitz was my old watch officer on the U-46, until I recommended him for command of his own boat in July 1940. Never heard much from him after BdU put me in command of a desk. Say hello for me, will you?
