Default Russian Type 7 DD?

Sergbuto, I was just wondering - when will the Russian Type 7 destroyer become available for doanload? Is it almost completed? Thanks.

Hard to say. Do you badly need it for something? In principle, it is usable as it is. I can e-mail it to you if really necessary.

What's wrong with it Serg, that you are not releasing?

Shadowing and reflection nodes need to be added for some things.

No I don't need it really badly - I was just wondering when it will be available.

Also, do you have plans for other ships when this one is finished?

Yes, I had plans for another merchant, French DD, and Queen Elizabeth BB which can be made close to originals based on 3D details/pieces available in SH3. However, I am not so keen to do that and really hope that such a hex-editing method for making models will soon be a history because someone will come up with a 3D converter to the DAT format, f.e. based on lurbz's work. Then new models from guys like Seacondor will pour in. I also have a few 3D models standing by and waiting to be imported to SH3.

Sounds good to me - hex editing isn't perfect, but it can create accurate models if used correctly. Maybe a Renown class battlecruiser could be accurately created as well.

There are no hulls in SH3 close to Renown in length.

I guess he just wants a second funnel on the Revenge.

Well, actually I was thinking of the KGV hull, but it is about 20 metres too short. Too bad though, as the silhouette would have been easy to change and it seems that suitable armaments are available. I do prefer to see accurate new ships however, and this probably wouldn't be too accurate.

If you make a QE class BB, what parts would you use? That is one class of warship which should have been included in the game for sure.

Ah, that's right, my bad. The Renown is similar in appearance to Hood, which was bigger of course. The hull is still wrong on KGV as it missed that lower stern.

You're right, the hull wouldn't be much good (although there is a limited selection available anyway), but the funnels and superstructure are accurate.

Hi everyone....

I'm currently working on the Brasilian BB Sao Paulo, and I'm using the Revenge class BB as the stock ship......What I need to figure out is how to move the stock parts around and such....I'm also going to try to figure out how to change the look of the hull (including length)...not sure yet if it can be done, and Sansal's results over at the cloning thread indicate it might not be easy, but we will keep on working! :P

Mr. Sergbuto,

If you are able to add shadowing and reflection to the Russian DD, are you able to add it to the Type 2 U-Boats?
