Default Foggy Underwater

With all of the mods out I have a question. I use RuB but I don't like how murky the water is when I have dived. Could someone point me to a mod that I can add which will lighten it back up. I completely enjoyed watching the charges coming down on my head. I don't mind not being able to see vast distances but I would like to be able to see my boat underwater instead of just portions. I know it isn't realistic but I do play this mainly for fun. I love everything else with RuB just not the foggy water.

there is a sticky with a list of mods in this forum. Look for unreal uboat. It changes some things back to ootb form, including the water. Pluck it out and you are good! Its the scene.dat that you need.

As long as you are using pure RuB, just do not install scene.dat. ( No Visibility Mod or anything else that affects scene.dat). Else, many topics on how to change a modified scene.dat file back (as in the Visibility Mod or Big Waves).

I think Berry told me that is all what was changed to scene.dat -make the water more murky.

So just use your default scene.dat file.

In addition to Jungman,

The Rub read me it states which files change the under water visibility, as well as other changes the mod makes to the original game files. If you have these original files backed up, simply replace the ones mentioned in the readme with the old ones.

If you are using the Jonesoft Mod enabler, these files are automaticly backed up in the Mods/!Backup folder in their respective directories and renamed with a Rub1.43 extension such as "Basic.cfg.Rub.43". Simply create a new folder(s) outside of the Ubisoft Directory ( I use "My Documents/Silentbak/") and inside this new folder create the games own folder structure! Now copy the file(s) in question to each respective directory. Now rename these files by removing the ".Rub1.43" extension.

I.E.; "Basic.cfg.Rub.43" will be renamed "Basic.cfg" and moved to the "SilentHunterIII/data/Cfg/" directory.

Doing this with the Mod enabler does two things:
1. It does not change the original game files, so removing the Rub mod puts you back to square one, should a new game patch be made available.
2. It does not change the Rub mod, so should you want murky water later, simply disable and re-enable the mod!

Thanks for the idea about a phantom games set-up. I have never thought of doing that, makes it much better for moding things.

In addition to this, could you guys put up a few numbers from the env cfg file. I tried to originally fix this issue by editing the values in this and now I can see more clearly atsome angles and not others. "SeaTypeImageDimmY"=? and "SeaTypeImageDimmX"=? I sure would appreciate the help, and I DO back up files now! Thanks in advance
