How does one edit the RoF on guns? Does it need a hexeditor, or is it can it be done with a text prog?

You need a hexeditor. The data for the subs is in sh3\data\library\guns_sub.sim, the rest is in guns.sim. Sorry, can´t give you more informations, I don´t know very much about hex editing. Search the Mods forum for more details, it was discussed there several times.
