Default The log file.

In the careers folder under ones charcter's name there are a series of files that I think correspond to a patrol entited "log_1", "log_2", etc.

Does any one know if these files should be created during a patrol or at the conclusion of a patrol?

An issue has developed with my current campaign which I will not bore you all with at the moment but clarrification about this would be a great help.

Thanks

One thing I forgot to mention. If you look in your save game folders (the ones with all of the funny extensions like *.crp, *.clg in the My Docs directory) for the file *.clg (open in notepad) you can get a formatted copy of your patrol log. Just copy it over (exception of last header info...you'll have to fill that stuff in manually) and change the name.

Thanks again.

The problem I have is whilst using SH3Cmdr and its realistic career function, I have had a patrol interrupted and brought to an end by that particular function.

Whilst I would accept it at the end of a patrol, mid patrol is not on.
That particular patrol still has a folder, but none of the "Saves" show up as an option when the game loads.

Any idea how to reinsert the game files?

That I'm not sure about. You might play around with the index

[INIT] and the key Careers=

in the Careers.cfg, Careers_0.cfg, Patrols.cfg and Patrols_0.cfg. I think you'll also have to rebuild the Crew*.cfg and Log*.cfg files.

I've never tried to do this, so I'm not sure it would work but I know the number of patrols you've finished is tracked by the [INIT] key in each of those files above.

Good luck!

I am not sure whether you posted this prior to me responding to your email, so I will reiterate again. Resurrecting a career retired via SH3Cmdr is quite simple. Just go to the specific career data folder, open up Careers.cfg and change the last "Finished" and "WarOver" values from "true" back to "false". This reverses what SH3Cmdr does when it retires you. Your career will then be available again. To clarify, SH3Cmdr does NOT delete any career files when it retires you, so if any of your save files are missing, that ain't because of SH3Cmdr...

To make it even easier to resurrect retired (but not dead) careers, I have added this feature to the next release of SH3Cmdr.

Observer, thanks again.

JScones, also thank you.

I have just logged on this morning and I have not received an e-mail as yet. :hmm:

Regardless I should now be able to get back to that career.
