Well as it happens im also buying a new GFX card aswell. My computer is not going to be new enough to realy benefit from the latest cards so I thought id buy a good old Radeon 9700 pro 128mb card. Its alot faster than some of the geforce FX series apart from the Geforce FX 5900 +, and its alot faster than all the geforce 4 series cards!

It also runs all of the directx 9 graphics additions, the geforce ti4600 only runs effects up to directx 8.1. (though from what ive heard SH3 doesnt even use directx9 pixel 2.0 shading but it cant hurt to have it!)

Also it runs well with high antialiasing/filtering settings where the ti4600 takes a big hit when you have them turned on. So you will get better image quality. The card wiull give you everything you need for this game.

I bought the card of Ebay for £46 so you can get them cheap.

I've been using the 80.40's for quite a while, and they are completely stable.

Well this driver has brought the playability back to SH3 for me. The sea looks better, the fps killing reflections of the uboat pens no longer slow everything down to 8 fps, and I can pan and zoom around exploding ships with much reduced stuttering and slowdown.

Definately a big thumbs up from this Fx5900 user

Right- I'm off to get sunk again in the mid Atlantic, now where did I put my latest will - its around here somewhere...

Well, that is weird because the 78.01 is NO different than 77.77

Only difference is this:

Release Highlights:
ForceWare 78.01 adds support for GeForce 6500 only. There are no additional driver updates in 78.01 since 77.77.
