Default IX40 Clipping Problem

Hi there, great site.

Ive been playing the game from day one, but i have a bit of a problem.

I cant upgrade my IX to any other boat.

Whenever i do, the thing spawns into the back wall of the launching bay. Its clipped into that wall like half a meter inside the boat, pinning it. I try to floor it out of the pen, move around, its just stuck.

Is there any way to turn clipping off so i can leave the pen? Im at St Nazire, what other ports on the french coast have the ability for me to purchase a IX40/D etc. Maybe a change of port will let me get out. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

urseus,

Head to this topic, last message of the page:

http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopi...094&highlight=

'Stavinsky' has made a great mod, that not only gets rid of the IX sub problem, boat being too far back when parked, thus ruining the boat, but this mod also starts patrols in sub-pens (when available). A very well-done mod, and no more sub-damage with IX-series subs.

A good read, and it lists the mod link. If you don't see it, the mod can be downloaded at:
--

EDIT: I posted the wrong link to this mod. Sorry about that. The correct link is:

http://membres.lycos.fr/stavinskyely...mpaign_LND.mis

When the above link loads, your browser will probably show a page of data. Use your browser 'File' tab, then 'Save as' or 'Save File As':

Campaign_LND.mis

Then backup your original 'Campaign_LND.mis' file, and replace with this one.

If it doesn't work, PM me and I'll send you the file.

I like the sub-pen mod

The referenced thread confused me a little. Do you have to have RUB installed to use this? I can't tell which file (if any) is for an unmodded game/file.

_alphaBeta_,

The edited/correct link I posted works fine with stock SH3, although I 'think' RUB also uses Stavinsky's sub-pen mod. The correct download link is:

http://membres.lycos.fr/stavinskyely...mpaign_LND.mis

urseus,

The mod should not cause any problems with your career. You're right, it corrects the placement problem with IX-subs. I applied the mod right before starting a new patrol ( 'In Base After Mission' save).

Fantastic. I used it for Boudoux i was actually in.

Worked like a treat.

The IXD is a DREAM!

Its so long and beautifull. Finnally i can get it out of the pen. I noticed that its ass takes a while to crash dive, but i want to have a go at some planes with that ridiculously massive flak array.

Thanks for your help.
