Default Is Arnold Schwarzenegger on my boat?

This is really weird. I started playing the game using the German voice dialogue. I left the text on English. It does add to the immersion factor. I noticed, though, that when my sonarman reports a hydrophone contact he sounds exactly like Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's disturbing, really.

I think it actually depends on which crew member you assign to the station. I have never really noticed.

He'll be Bock !

For some reason im picturing that voice from AOD....

"Depth charges in the water!!" followed very quickly in the same sentence by, "Its not a tumor!"

"Crash dive, all hands forward!, Do it! Do it now!!!"

I'm sure it is Arnold. My sonar man said: "Hasta la vista, baby!" the other day!
Besides, he has the physique - but so has my whole crew...

:rotfl: Yeah, I got a bit alarmed the first time I heard the sonarman after installing patch 1.4b. He sounded like a woman, or like someone high on caffeine or Helium (more likely).

But one thing I've noticed. I also play with German voices, and when I order a full stop, the CE replies 'alle maschinen schtock!'. My German is a bit rusty, but I would think that he is supposed to say 'schtopp'...? I'm sure he says it, as I'm playing with a headseat. Don't miss a heartbeat with those...

Default Hearing voices

I know that the crew members have a setting for which voice to use, so different crewmen will (well, can) sound differently at the different positions, depending upon who is where.

I still want to know if it's intentional that my crew (in English) sounds like nervous little girls sometimes when there are depth charges in the water Is that a function of morale?

Yes, if you are going silent and/or you are being followed by warships, the game sets a mode so that the crew sound like a bunch of wimps...

But I think something is not right in there somewhere, as sometimes my crew yells out incredibly loud, when they're supposed to be quiet!

I'm thinking of taking away their caffein coffee, but I'm not sure if de-caff was invented at that time...

Tell us the name of your Schwarzenegger crew member, Syxx Killer, so we can all assign him to the post and get a listen.

The sonarman's name is Karl Creutz. He is a Chief Sr. W. Officer.

I've got "Mr Whorf" for a weapons officer.

That deep growly "Solution ready, Sir" sounds like he wants to swim out and sink it with his bare hands, LOL

In fact it's (re)invented in these days called Ersatzkaffee or Mucke****....I tasted it once and it's terrible, very bad for morale.
