Default Type XXI has no Rear Tubes

Well this is a surprise. I'll have to change my tactics I guess.

hehe, u didn't know this???

the XXI was thought of as a pure assault sub, and in a sense...it's like Hitler made it as a type of Kamikaze sub....fight or die....

but, since this sub has supperior speed. compared to other subs, AND better turning circle, u really do not need the aft tubes...

oh, and i forgot, it's even harder to detect then the VIIc and IX class..

i must admit something...i have had this game since it came... and only tried the XXI once, in a locked online game....i'm a IX nutt.....gotta love that big'old pice of hardware :-)

I was out tooling around in the XXI tonight. I see the periscope depth is a little deeper and it can't run at 10 knots while at "ahead slow" like I could in my old IX-C. I really liked that boat and really got comfortable with it's performance. Anyway, we'll see how this one shakes out.

Why would modern subs want rear tubes anyway? They have wire-guided fish....

A version of the XXI was actually planned to have 12 rear torpedo tubes!
