Default AHHHH!!!! No SH3 for nearly 1 1/2 weeks...NOOOOOO!!!!

GAH!!!!

Life sucks at times..

My BFG GeForce FX5700OC card fried itself leaving me high and dry using my old 5200 card as a temp card until I get a new one.And the 5200 does not like SH3 much.

What is worse is this is the second 5700OC from BFG to do this to me.I had ordered one quite awhile back that I had been using.Well one of the capacitors blew up on it and actually burned a section of the video cards board. So I used the lifetime warrenty to RMA the card back to BFG for replacement.I got the second 5700OC card and now less than 6 months later the EXACT SAME capacitor blows up and fries the board in the exact same place and same way as the original. .I got lucky this time since the original card fried the AGP port on my mobo when it went out.

So again I contacted BFG and told them what I think of their card and where they could put it in pretty polite terms.I have to admit they were very accomadating afterwards. They are shipping me a 5900XT OC card as a replacement.I will be selling that to my brother in law and am ordering a 6600GT card to put in my system. They said it will take roughly 10 days or so for total transit time for me to ship the old card to them and then for them to ship the new card to me.

I now have a slight hesitation to buy BFG products again after this but hopefully they fix whatever is causing the burnouts on the 5700OC series.Three other people I know had the same cards and the exact same problems as me.Im just guessing it must have been a faulty batch of capacitors they got.

I went to Cuba on business 3 days after nabbing SH3... I was dreaming about hitting convoys; that's how bad it got. You'll get over it; read a book or something. I hear some of the books on WWII sub warfare are quite good read.

CWorth, if you're in the US , send it to BFG Priority Mail. That way they'll get it in 2 days and it'll cut your waiting time.

I second that, Nvidia's been slipping in taking care of driver issues, and they don't seem to care that we have problems in many games.

ATI for me next time I buy, consider doing the same, SH3 will look far better with an ATI, I know, I've seen the difference, and it's quite impressive.
