GWX 3.0 crashes

Does anyone know why this game keeps crashing? I only have the widescreen fix installed and nothing else. This time it happened one second after my torpedo exploded under the destroyer in grid AL39. Year 1944.

What is your mod list? You can use JSGME to generate that by clicking on the "Tasks..." in the middle of the JSGME app, and clicking on "Export activated mods list", and then copy that to your next post. Also, did you empty the Save folder after you installed GWX?

Only this widescreen fix: Conus' SH3GWXWS 2.3. I'm not using anything else to avoid even more frequent crashes.

I didn't, because there were no saves there. I've installed GWX on a clean copy of sh3, without even starting it before. I don't play clean, unmodded sh3

Do you have the 4G patch installed?

That may be part of the issue for CTD's. You can d/l a copy here :

I don't think I have it installed. So this patch will allow the game to use 4gb ram?
