Default Our Childhood

What can you remember from your childhood, was you a good boy/girl and did what your parents told you to do ?

I was Markus the menace.

Ohh man I was a little devil and a little hysterical.

Most of the things I did was never discovered.
To my luck, 'cause my fathers and my moms hands sat very loose. And I got some smacking on my chin, throughout my childhood.

It is funny how life changes-As ground-up I'm totally different.

Markus

Always stayed for myself, found it difficult to make friends, and did not really want it anyway. I always liked animals and often tended to be closer to them than to humans, and when still laying in a cradle my mother swears that squirrels came and just watched me a few times, no joke. Never got along with humans too closely, never was bored with living life and doing things the way I and I alone wanted it to. So I assume I was easy to handle because one could have left me alone with myself. Imagination was intense, later meditation helped me to keep it under control. My whole such training as a teen and young man helped. I played a lot, with wooden blocks, all sort of board games, and played the opponents as well, it did not irritate me. A game called "Öl für uns alle" was very popular with me, as was "Risk", the only game I really played with school friends. At school, not only chess but also "Skat" (I as very good at that). As a small kid, was very cautious and hated it to act under time pressure. I hate that until today, PC games with time limits, I just hate them. But i still love to play. I hope it never goes away until I die.

Chess since the age of 4 or 5.

Was ein Häkchen werden will, krümmt sich beizeiten.

Would have animals myself nowadays if I would have the living place for it, but its seocnd floor (3rd in US terminology) and too small for a dog or cat. That I adopted wild squirrels in the garden is kind of compensation.

^ Those squirrels who came and watched over you - they sowed a seed which bears valuable fruit today, so that is extremely good, Marc

First time I was drunk.

I was around 4-5 years old and it happened on a new years eve.

I woke and went up to see my mom and dad when I entered the living room I remember a long table with lots of stuff on it among these was many glasses with liquid in them. I was thirsty so I drank what was in these glasses.

This happened almost near midnight. When my mom returned she saw me and couldn't understand why was walking with uncertain steps. Until some of our friends noticed that some of the glasses was empty.

i underperformend scholastically as a child, though, moving into high school and into my college / tech school years i came into my own within the education system. largely because as a kid, i was simply not interested in disecting sentence structure, doing long division or writing history papers.

behaviorally, per my mother, i was an ideal child, who never really gave my parents much in the way of trouble. When i was asked to do something i could generally be counted on to do it. I was affectionate toward my mother, and respectful of my father.

I kept few close friends, a very small circle of perhaps 2 close friends and still today i can be this way. I had a quiet uncertainty about myself, and suffered from a lack of confidence and self esteem, but as i became a young man in my early teens i grew out of this, and especially as i learned to fly airplanes at the age of 18 and 19 my manner of dress changed, and i adopted a sort of swagger typical of my fellow aviation peers and instructors and finally felt part of something that was bigger than myself which shaped me tremendously into adulthood
