Open Steam\UserData in Windows Explorer. Up in the search box, type ".jpg" (or whatever file extension you've designated in the Steam interface) without the quotes. Now search. Double click the first file when the results come up, and keep clicking the right side arrow in Windows Photo Viewer.
You'll see things from games that you uninstalled years ago. And nice images from all those times that you accidentally bumped the screenshot key. You'll be gobsmacked! You might even find something that you want to keep. You see, Steam doesn't really delete everything that you tell it to delete. It just tells you that it deleted it. But it's still there, hidden away, slowly devouring your hard drive space. I just deleted 477 old screenshots this afternoon. And my computer isn't that old. Some of you probably have screenshots. of cave wall paintings done by Cro-Magnon man, and don't even know it! ![]() ![]() |
