A group of nurses and other employees on two Danish hospital have been sent home and can expect to be fired-Just because they were curios to read in a medical journal-This medical journal belongs to the little 13 year old girl who was kidnapped and raped during these 27 hours she was kept in captivity

Took me some time to understand, I took "journal" as "magazine, newspaper". I needed a minute or two to remember that "journal" also means "Tagebuch". Then the story makes sense, of course.

Is it the 13 year old's hospital medical records you're talking about and, those nurses and other employees accessed her records without having the authorisation to do so, that would be grounds for a dismissal me thinks.

![]() One would think that, at least, that's how Hippa is written and it's intent. I have seen prospective patients come into an ER for treatment and security guards at the front desk were listening in. This is a clear violation of Hippa and the Patient bill of Rights. Further, I have seen a State Police officer enter a patients examining room when the Police had nothing whatsoever to do with that patient. I had the officer in question removed from the E.R Immediately and a complaint was filed against him. Administration of the Hospital was also promptly notified of the incident. Both cases are clear violations of the aforementioned regulations regarding patients which defines the regulations that unless a practitioner is directly involved in a patients care, either by being a medical professional or by law having a Durable medical power of Attorney, they are excluded from any Information about said patient. |
