Default IJN no destroyers with merchants?

Do I need to reinstall IJN? I play the mod occasionally and I noticed there are no destroyers in any merchant convoys I encounter. Anybody else play the mod and have this problem?

Is a couple of stand alone mods, that one adds in with a (original) Operation Monsun set up... using a stock fresh SH4 v1.5 copy... as the base for an IJN SH4 set up.

That was the guiding principle, that I recall... to follow.

I ended up getting it rolling with a... factory fresh, stock v1.5 copy of SH4/UBM...

Okay, I remember the mods now. I had not heard anything about them in long time, figured were dead.

Most of the Allied traffic in the Indian Ocean was indeed single and double merchants, no escorts. They did add the occasional escort as they started losing ships, but still never did protect them very well, no do much convoying n the area...

Last I heard, was some plans... to see of reworking the whole shebang, into a mega named... "Climb Mt. Niitaka".

Of course, the 1 or 2 hold ups on getting it set to rights... is gonna be in getting sound bits when orders are given, for it being in japanese... & then, is the aspects of having the crew, being japanese, rather than, an ad hoc mix of german/english sailors. More so, german than english... other wise... the sub models, aren't all bad... still need a bit of tweaking on a few of them...

Then, lastly... is getting mission orders, patrol objectives, more so in line... with their, sub usage doctrine... more on recon/supply/troop dropping, rather than going after merchie/warships.

Not to say, that they didn't take advantage, when the opportunity, presented itself... in sending a merchie or warship to the bottom... just that it wasn't pushed as much of... a hard lined doctrine, as it was with the U.S. or their German cohorts... was for them... or did, should I say...

Which, in the grand scheme of things... did come back to bite them, in the aft quarters... was just 1 in a multitude of nails that slammed the lid on their war coffin.

Yeah that's what it is. IJN Climb Mount Niitaka. The crash dive command is in Japanese, but yeah it would've been more immersive with all the audibles in the language. It's not a bad mod though. Worth a look. I'd rate it 3rd or 4th in the list of mods I play.
