Luftwaffe stole my sinking

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I had put three torpedoes into a large merchant ship, about 100 miles east of Lowestoft, and as I watched it slowly sinking I saw strikes on it from above and around it in the water. It exploded and sank. I sent off a report after surfacing that evening, but got no credit for the sinking. I think the Luftwaffe must have claimed it first!

Yup. In CCoM during the first career patrol in the Baltic I was lined up on a Soviet convoy when Luftwaffe dive bombers attacked and wiped it out completely.

For what it's worth, Kondors would occasionally finish off cripples after a convoy battle so it happened in the real world. Besides, if this is the worst thing to happen in your U-Boat career, you are likely to do well.

The Luftwaffe guys are really special, in my last patrol out of Wilhelmshaven 5 planes dropped all their load on a floating mine with my sub at less than 2 Km... Hell of a show!

Mediterranean campaign is notorious for this i decided to patrol the choke point at Tunis and the luftwaffe presence was very thick many kills were stolen by them i then decided to move away to Algier
To avoid the Luftwaffe stealing kills try to move away from the blue bases but having them around is actually good just make sure you sink ships very quickly(amidships shots/weakspots) those planes will distract the escorts and wreck havok

Yep, had the Luftwaffe "assist" me as well before.

However, I have NEVER seen a floating mine. I have seen mine barrages and Uboat nets in front of naval bases but never a single floating mine somewhere in the ocean ...
